Mr. Wolfgang Bauer

Mr. Wolfgang Bauer was born in Berlin, and grew up in Marburg and Wiesbaden. His university training was in modern history, politics and the history of the arts at the Universities of Hamburg and Freiburg, and he received his M.A. in history from the University of Freiburg in 1986. Since 1989 he has held a teaching position in the Faculty of Economics of Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, and is concurrently in the final year of his Ph.D. programme, with his main research in the fields of Japanese economic history (Taisho and Showa eras) and the present economic relations with Asia.
