Hiroyuki YAMAMOTO

Biographical Statement

Hiroyuki Yamamoto is a lecturer of Political Science at the Institute for International Strategy (IIS) at Tokyo International University. He received his Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia in 2009. Dr. Yamamoto taught at various academic institutions including the University of Virginia (2008-2009), the University of California, Los Angeles (2010-2011), the University of Washington (2011-2012), Washington and Lee University (2010), and the University of Richmond (2012-2015). He was a recipient of the Terasaki Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UCLA Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies and was also awarded a research fellowship from the Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. His primary research interest is the historical origins of democratic breakdown in interwar economies.
